Simple Present Tense

The simple present tense expresses action that happens currently, habitually, or repeatedly. it can also be used to describe a condition or general truth. 

For example:
I open the door. (currently)
She always wears the same clothes every year. (Habitually or repeatedly)
They miss you. (Condition)
January 1st is the beginning of the calendar.  (General truth)

Patterns:
Category: Verbal > Active
S + V1(s/es) + O (Positive)
e.g. Dea washes her sock every week.
S + do/does + not + V1 + O (Negative)
e.g. Dea does not washes her sock every week
Do/does + S + V1 + O? (Interrogative)
Does Dea wash her sock every week?

Category: Verbal > Passive
S + is/am/are + V3 + O
e.g. Dea's sock is washed by her every week
S + is/am/are + not + V3 + O
e.g. Dea's sock is not washed by her every week
Is/Am/Are + S + V3 + O?
e.g. Is Dea's sock washed by her every week?

Category: Nominal 
S + is/am/are + Adj/noun/adv
e.g. Dea is lazy
S + is/am/are + not + adj/noun/adv
e.g. Dea is not lazy
Is/Am/Are + S + adj/noun/adv?
e.g. Is Dea lazy?
